Curb Appeal

With several years experience in the Real Estate industry I have seen many homes simply because of the sign on the front lawn. When some one drives by your home for sale they are judging it in two categories 1. your location (which you can’t do anything about) 2. Your curb appeal.

Just as you would be concerned about how the interior of your home looks you should put a share of your time and resources into the exterior. By spending some time improving or maintaining the your curb appeal you will ensure that buyers get a good first impression of your property. In some cases it may mean the difference of a buyer wanting to see the interior of the home or just crossing it off there list.

I have never met a seller that did not want top dollar for their home and by improving your curb appeal you will generate more interest, more buyers and usually more money when an offer comes in.

Healthy Real Estate Market

Since the rapid beating the real estate market took in middle of the winter there has been nothing but positive numbers this spring. As quick as the media was to report the all the negative numbers there has been a significant lag to the disclosure of the current optimistic statistics. Just like any news reported it seems like the doom and gloom gets the front page. The truth is that the Real Estate Market has been gaining momentum fueled by low mortgage rates and a surplus of homes on the market.

The numbers for May and June show that homes sales are above last year here in the GTA and in many more major cities across the country. I don’t think that it’s time to break out the champagne if you are selling your home but the outlook is much better than what is still lingering in the minds of many sellers across the country. The market is healthy from the perspective of a seller or a buyer so lets stay in the moment not the past.
